With crispy skin and tender meat, roast Shiqi squab is a culinary icon of Zhongshan, Guangdong. In 2022, the cooking technique for Shiqi squab was included in Zhongshan’s municipal intangible cultural heritage list. This famous Zhongshan dish is not only renowned across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, but has now also gained popularity overseas. According to data released by Zhongshan Customs, in 2025, Zhongshan exported a total of 12.1 tons of precooked squabs, with a total value of approximately 1.24 million yuan. Among these, nearly 10,000 squabs were exported to Australia for the first time.
To ensure the smooth export of Shiqi squabs to Australia, producers under the guidance of Zhongshan Customs, have strictly controlled the source of the squabs to ensure compliance with Australia’s food import standards. In the next phase, precooked Shiqi squabs will also expand into overseas markets such as Canada and Singapore.
外皮酥脆、肉質滑嫩,紅燒石岐乳鴿是廣東中山飲食文化的一張名片。2022年,石岐乳鴿菜式烹飪技藝被列入中山市市級非物質文化遺產代表性項目。這道中山名菜不僅享譽粵港澳,如今更是香飄海外。2025年,中山海關共監管出口熟制乳鴿12.1噸,貨值約124萬元。其中近萬只更是首次“飛”向澳洲。
為讓石岐乳鴿順利“出海”澳洲,生產商在拱北海關所屬中山海關的指導下, 嚴把乳鴿來源關,確保符合澳大利亞食品進口原料標準。下一步,中山熟制乳鴿還將拓展加拿大、新加坡等地市場。
